Regular price $210.00

Limited Edition Maine Audubon Sea Bag
Featuring the Artistry of Tammy Ricker DBA
Includes numbers of pairs and fledgling Piping Plovers from the 2022 season.

Maine Audubon has teamed up with iconic Maine brand Sea Bags to create this beautiful limited edition Piping Plover medium tote featuring the artwork of Yarmouth ME watercolor artist Tammy Ricker.

Sea Bag materials come from Maine first, New England second and USA third and are manufactured on Custom House Wharf in the heart of Portland's working waterfront.

Each Sea Bag is meticulously designed, sewn and finished by skilled Maine craftspeople: world-class sewers, artists, graduates of top-notch design schools. The thought, care and skill that goes into each bag is evident. Sea Bags carefully selects and cut sails, taking into account unique stitching details, grommet holes and, occasionally, treasures like tell-tales. Each sail panel is unique. We hand-splice the rope handles and skilled stitchers finish the bags with great care.

About the Artist

Tammy Ricker lives in Yarmouth, ME. She received her DBA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA.

"For me painting is integral to how I access, process and communicate thoughts and emotions. My creative process is rooted in a natural state of curiosity that compels me to explore nature and this human life using color, marks & symbols to reflect whatever may be moving through me in the moment. Inspired by everything related to nature, plants, water, sky and a significant interest in biological and molecular structures, all make appearances as fragments of the world in and around us. This represents, for me, the quest for balance between the inner and outer worlds. My paintings are a deeply personal and intuitive form of expression and it is my hope they will inspire each viewer to form their own personal interpetation or possibly experience a state of reflection through which they are transported momentarily and return enriched."
