Maine artist Molly Thompson creates the designs of each of the napkins, towels and table linens. Her hand-printed linens are inspired by nature and by her verve for color and for functional objects representative of good design. Each linen is unique – individually printed using a process that begins with carving Molly’s original drawings onto a pliable rubber surface, which is then mounted on wood to create a stamp.
She hand paints the stamp repeatedly to create printed impressions that mirror gardens, both real and imagined. The fabrics I print on are made of natural fibers and the paints are food safe and heat set, to withstand rigorous use and repeated washing.
